We are a registered Society that raises money to support the MWI School Community. A School Council is a vehicle to support meaningful parental involvement in decisions that affect the school and its operations.

The MWI Fundraising Society and MWI School Council work together on similar goals but have specific mandates and different accountability structures. For example, the Society determines if a fundraiser is possible and appropriate and manages funds raised. The School Council decides what funds should be put towards and helps execute any fundraiser activities.

The MWI Fundraising Society adheres to the Alberta Society's Act, while the MWI School Council falls under the jurisdiction of the Education Act.
